In February 2020 Christies in London held the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Organism 6 by Damián Ortega. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,590.02), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Damián Ortega have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Auto construcción, caja de velocidades in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 76,994.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Organism 6 von Damián Ortega zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.590,02) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Damián Ortega auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Auto construcción, caja de velocidades im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 76.994,15).
