In May 2013 Phillips in New York held the auction Latin America, which included the work Auto construcción, caja de velocidades by Damián Ortega. The »bidding war« ended at USD 100,000.00 (€ 76,994.15), 25% above the upper estimate. With this result, Auto construcción, caja de velocidades is even the most expensive work of art by Damián Ortega that we have observed at auctions so far.
