Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Clown And Monkey by Charles Bell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 112,500.00 (€ 106,513.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Bell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Miami Beach in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 769,000.00 (€ 523,556.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Clown And Monkey von Charles Bell zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 106.513,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Bell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Miami Beach im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 769.000,00 (€ 523.556,64).
