Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Carl Andre achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May last year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Structure White Consciousness sold for USD 138,600.00 (€ 129,158.51) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carl Andre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Copper-Steel Alloy Square in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 2,411,250.00 (€ 2,796,877.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carl Andre erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Structure White Consciousness für USD 138.600,00 (€ 129.158,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carl Andre erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Copper-Steel Alloy Square im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.411.250,00 (€ 2.796.877,07).
