Auction result well in line with expectations
The work AL Σ 20 by Carl Andre was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in November this year. The price achieved of USD 71,620.00 (€ 65,658.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carl Andre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Copper-Steel Alloy Square in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 2,411,250.00 (€ 2,796,877.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit AL Σ 20 von Carl Andre kam im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 71.620,00 (€ 65.658,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carl Andre erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Copper-Steel Alloy Square im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.411.250,00 (€ 2.796.877,07).
