Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session, which included the work ESSAY ON PAINTING FOR F P STELLA 1965 by Carl Andre. The price achieved of USD 13,970.00 (€ 12,807.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carl Andre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Copper-Steel Alloy Square in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 2,411,250.00 (€ 2,796,877.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit ESSAY ON PAINTING FOR F P STELLA 1965 von Carl Andre zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 13.970,00 (€ 12.807,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carl Andre erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Copper-Steel Alloy Square im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.411.250,00 (€ 2.796.877,07).
