Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Meninos no balanço by Cândido Portinari was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 252,000.00 (€ 234,833.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cândido Portinari have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Meninos soltando pipas in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,443,750.00 (€ 1,111,603.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Meninos no balanço von Cândido Portinari kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 252.000,00 (€ 234.833,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cândido Portinari auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Meninos soltando pipas im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.443.750,00 (€ 1.111.603,02).
