Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art, which included the work Retrato De Amalia Von Schwanenfluegel by Cândido Portinari. The price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 56,129.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cândido Portinari achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Meninos soltando pipas in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,443,750.00 (€ 1,111,603.02).

Im Mai 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Retrato De Amalia Von Schwanenfluegel von Cândido Portinari zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 56.129,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cândido Portinari erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Meninos soltando pipas im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.443.750,00 (€ 1.111.603,02).
