Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cândido Portinari could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art auction, the work Cortadores De Madeira changed hands for USD 32,500.00 (€ 30,724.14) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cândido Portinari achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Meninos soltando pipas in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,443,750.00 (€ 1,111,603.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cândido Portinari konnte im November 2016 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit Cortadores De Madeira für USD 32.500,00 (€ 30.724,14) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 35.000,00 – 45.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cândido Portinari erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Meninos soltando pipas im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.443.750,00 (€ 1.111.603,02).
