Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled: Four Prints by Budd Hopkins for USD 250.00 (€ 218.23). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Multiples Online at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Budd Hopkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work City Sun Iii in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,369.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled: Four Prints von Budd Hopkins für USD 250,00 (€ 218,23) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Prints & Multiples Online bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Budd Hopkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit City Sun Iii im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.369,97).
