Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Budd Hopkins for USD 756.00 (€ 681.51). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Discoveries at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Budd Hopkins have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work City Sun Iii in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,369.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Budd Hopkins für USD 756,00 (€ 681,51) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Budd Hopkins auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit City Sun Iii im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.369,97).
