The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,140.00 (€ 877.06), 43% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Budd Hopkins have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work City Sun Iii in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,369.97).

Die Arbeit Abstract composition von Budd Hopkins wurde im Januar 2007 in der Auktion The House Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.140,00 (€ 877,06) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Budd Hopkins auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit City Sun Iii im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.369,97).
