This price was achieved in the auction The Collection of Edward Albee at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 1,200.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Budd Hopkins; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot City Sun Iii sold at auction in July 2020 with the realized price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,369.97).
