Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Budd Hopkins was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2015. The price achieved of USD 625.00 (€ 560.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Budd Hopkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work City Sun Iii in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,369.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Budd Hopkins wurde im Juni 2015 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 625,00 (€ 560,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Budd Hopkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit City Sun Iii im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.369,97).
