Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Betty Woodman could be acquired at Sothebys in London in October 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Summer View changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,616.41) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Betty Woodman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Triptych (Tulips) in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 101,493.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Betty Woodman konnte im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wechselte die Arbeit Summer View für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 9.616,41) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Betty Woodman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Triptych (Tulips) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 101.493,72).
