Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Academy of the Arts, R 217) by Andreas Gefeller was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,818.83). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andreas Gefeller - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Parking Site 1) 2007 from Supervisions, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,418.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Academy of the Arts, R 217) von Andreas Gefeller im März 2015 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.818,83) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Andreas Gefeller mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Parking Site 1) 2007 from Supervisions beobachtet, die im November 2010 für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.418,73) versteigert wurde.
