Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Academy Of Arts, R 210) by Andreas Gefeller was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,255.51). Admittedly, works by Andreas Gefeller have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Parking Site 1) 2007 from Supervisions in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,418.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Academy Of Arts, R 210) von Andreas Gefeller im September 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.750,00 (€ 4.255,51) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andreas Gefeller auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Parking Site 1) 2007 from Supervisions im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.418,73).
