Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Monocromo Roma I by Adriana Varejão. Here, the upper estimate of USD 550,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 567,000.00 (€ 528,375.73). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adriana Varejão - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Parede com Incisões a la Fontana II (Wall with Incisions a la Fontana II), which sold at auction in February 2011 for GBP 1,105,250.00 (€ 1,301,892.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Monocromo Roma I von Adriana Varejão zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 550.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 567.000,00 (€ 528.375,73) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Adriana Varejão mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Parede com Incisões a la Fontana II (Wall with Incisions a la Fontana II) beobachtet, die im Februar 2011 für GBP 1.105.250,00 (€ 1.301.892,03) versteigert wurde.
