This artwork by Adriana Varejão achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2018. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Língua Com Padrão De Flor sold for USD 735,000.00 (€ 632,421.27) - well above the upper estimate of USD 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adriana Varejão - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Parede com Incisões a la Fontana II (Wall with Incisions a la Fontana II), which sold at auction in February 2011 for GBP 1,105,250.00 (€ 1,301,892.03).
