Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Five Series of Repetition by Xu Bing was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 57,150.00 (€ 54,078.35). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Bing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Living Word in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 7,607,500.00 (€ 626,954.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Five Series of Repetition von Xu Bing kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 57.150,00 (€ 54.078,35) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xu Bing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Living Word im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 7.607.500,00 (€ 626.954,17).
