The work Book From The Sky by Xu Bing was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. It achieved a price of HKD 800,000.00 (€ 84,566.18), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. Admittedly, works by Xu Bing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Living Word in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 7,607,500.00 (€ 626,954.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Book From The Sky von Xu Bing kam im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 800.000,00 (€ 84.566,18) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xu Bing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Living Word im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 7.607.500,00 (€ 626.954,17).
