Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 China Guardian held the auction Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art, which included the work New English Calligraphy: Wang Wei Deer Exclosure (Diptych) by Xu Bing. The price achieved of HKD 480,000.00 (€ 53,393.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 350,000.00 – 550,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Bing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Living Word in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 7,607,500.00 (€ 626,954.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte China Guardian die Auktion Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit New English Calligraphy: Wang Wei Deer Exclosure (Diptych) von Xu Bing zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 480.000,00 (€ 53.393,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 350.000,00 – 550.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xu Bing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Living Word im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 7.607.500,00 (€ 626.954,17).
