It achieved a price of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,901.53), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 63%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Valentine Hugo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait d'Arthur Rimbaud in March last year with an auction result of GBP 1,042,750.00 (€ 1,236,297.48).

Die Arbeit Poule, from Les animaux et leurs hommes, les hommes et leurs animaux von Valentine Hugo wurde im April 2019 in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.901,53) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 63%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Valentine Hugo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait d'Arthur Rimbaud im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.042.750,00 (€ 1.236.297,48).
