A top price for Valentine Hugo
The work Portrait d'Arthur Rimbaud by Valentine Hugo was sold in the The Mind's Eye / Surrealist Sale auction at Bonhams in London in March last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,042,750.00 (€ 1,236,297.48), 74% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Portrait d'Arthur Rimbaud the most expensive artwork by Valentine Hugo that we have observed at auctions so far.
