Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Utagawa Sadahide achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2008. In the Asian Art auction, the work Unknown sold for EUR 2,250.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,000.00. Admittedly, works by Utagawa Sadahide have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Yokohama koeki seiyojin kamotsu unso no zu (A view of Western traders transporting merchandise at Yokohama) in September 2002 with an auction result of USD 17,925.00 (€ 18,144.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Utagawa Sadahide erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Unknown für EUR 2.250,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 1.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Utagawa Sadahide auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Yokohama koeki seiyojin kamotsu unso no zu (A view of Western traders transporting merchandise at Yokohama) im September 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.925,00 (€ 18.144,55).
