A top price for Utagawa Sadahide
In September 2002 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Yokohama koeki seiyojin kamotsu unso no zu (A view of Western traders transporting merchandise at Yokohama) by Utagawa Sadahide. The »bidding war« ended at USD 17,925.00 (€ 18,144.55), 49% above the upper estimate. With this result, Yokohama koeki seiyojin kamotsu unso no zu (A view of Western traders transporting merchandise at Yokohama) is even the most expensive work of art by Utagawa Sadahide that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Utagawa Sadahide
Im September 2002 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Yokohama koeki seiyojin kamotsu unso no zu (A view of Western traders transporting merchandise at Yokohama) von Utagawa Sadahide zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 17.925,00 (€ 18.144,55) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Yokohama koeki seiyojin kamotsu unso no zu (A view of Western traders transporting merchandise at Yokohama) sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Utagawa Sadahide, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
