The »bidding war« ended at GBP 630.00 (€ 733.02), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Sadahide achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yokohama koeki seiyojin kamotsu unso no zu (A view of Western traders transporting merchandise at Yokohama) in September 2002 with an auction result of USD 17,925.00 (€ 18,144.55).

Die Arbeit Volume Two of Varieties of Natural Phenomenon (Bansho shashin zufu) von Utagawa Sadahide wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 630,00 (€ 733,02) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Sadahide erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Yokohama koeki seiyojin kamotsu unso no zu (A view of Western traders transporting merchandise at Yokohama) im September 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.925,00 (€ 18.144,55).
