In September 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Gitana by Umberto Mastroianni for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,893.04). This price was achieved in the auction First Open | Post-War and Contemporary Art | NY at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Umberto Mastroianni have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2007 by the work Folgorazione at EUR 5,040.00.
