Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Tony Oursler could be acquired at Phillips in New York in October 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Untitled (Talking photograph) changed hands for USD 315.00 (€ 272.68) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 500.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tony Oursler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Passage in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 173,000.00 (€ 126,832.84).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Tony Oursler konnte im Oktober 2021 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Talking photograph) für USD 315,00 (€ 272,68) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 500,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tony Oursler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Passage im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 173.000,00 (€ 126.832,84).
