Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work All of it by Tony Oursler was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 10,080.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tony Oursler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Passage in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 173,000.00 (€ 126,832.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit All of it von Tony Oursler im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 10.080,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tony Oursler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Passage im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 173.000,00 (€ 126.832,84).
