Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Tom Otterness achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2021. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Cone Figure sold for USD 62,500.00 (€ 51,254.72) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Otterness achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Large Bear in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,512,500.00 (€ 1,335,776.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tom Otterness erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Cone Figure für USD 62.500,00 (€ 51.254,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom Otterness erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Large Bear im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.512.500,00 (€ 1.335.776,74).
