The work Crying Giant by Tom Otterness was sold in the Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2020. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,205,800.00 (€ 1,035,288.06), 72% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tom Otterness; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Large Bear sold at auction in November 2018 with the realized price of USD 1,512,500.00 (€ 1,335,776.74).

Die Arbeit Crying Giant von Tom Otterness wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.205.800,00 (€ 1.035.288,06) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tom Otterness; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Large Bear im November 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 1.512.500,00 (€ 1.335.776,74).
