Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work The Academic by Tom Otterness. The »bidding war« ended at USD 30,240.00 (€ 26,120.76), 21% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Otterness achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Large Bear in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,512,500.00 (€ 1,335,776.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Academic von Tom Otterness zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 26.120,76) und damit 21% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom Otterness erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Large Bear im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.512.500,00 (€ 1.335.776,74).
