Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Children in Meeting Series - Hong Kong No. 4 by Tang Zhigang was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,340,000.00 (€ 128,192.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tang Zhigang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Children In Meeting (3 Long Tables) in October 2008 with an auction result of EUR 6,020,000.00.
