Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Inside/Outside A Difference in Ages by Steven Sorman was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 587.50 (€ 678.56). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Steven Sorman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "Change of heart", which sold at auction in May 2010 for SEK 15,000.00 (€ 1,555.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Inside/Outside A Difference in Ages von Steven Sorman im Februar 2002 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 587,50 (€ 678,56) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Steven Sorman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit "Change of heart" beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für SEK 15.000,00 (€ 1.555,91) versteigert wurde.
