Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bent Twice by Steven Parrino was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 106,250.00 (€ 96,424.36). Admittedly, works by Steven Parrino have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Idol/Idiot in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 566,500.00 (€ 661,206.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bent Twice von Steven Parrino im November 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 106.250,00 (€ 96.424,36) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Steven Parrino auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Idol/Idiot im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 566.500,00 (€ 661.206,96).
