Auction result well in line with expectations
The work As if Eleven, from Tate Modern 21 Years by Frank Bowling was auctioned at Phillips in 6 - in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,651.00 (€ 1,559.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Bowling achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beggar No. 3 in June 2019 with an auction result of GBP 695,250.00 (€ 781,564.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit As if Eleven, from Tate Modern 21 Years von Frank Bowling kam im September diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 6 - zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.651,00 (€ 1.559,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Bowling erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beggar No. 3 im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 695.250,00 (€ 781.564,11).
