Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale, which included the work Untitled (Cathedral Painting) by Frank Bowling. The price achieved of GBP 163,800.00 (€ 186,354.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100,000.00 – 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Bowling have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Beggar No. 3 in June 2019 with an auction result of GBP 695,250.00 (€ 781,564.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Cathedral Painting) von Frank Bowling zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 163.800,00 (€ 186.354,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 100.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Bowling auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Beggar No. 3 im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 695.250,00 (€ 781.564,11).
