Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included this untitled work by Simone Leigh. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,847.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simone Leigh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Stick in May this year with an auction result of USD 2,712,000.00 (€ 2,545,522.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Simone Leigh zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.847,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Simone Leigh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Stick im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.712.000,00 (€ 2.545.522,81).
