A top price for Simone Leigh - as previously expected
The work Stick by Simone Leigh was sold in the 21st Century Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in May this year. The price achieved of USD 2,712,000.00 (€ 2,545,522.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Stick is the most expensive artwork by Simone Leigh that we have observed at auctions so far.
