This artwork by Simone Leigh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in December 2020. In the 20th c. and Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session auction, the work without title sold for USD 57,960.00 (€ 47,391.66) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simone Leigh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Stick in May this year with an auction result of USD 2,712,000.00 (€ 2,545,522.81).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Simone Leigh erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th c. and Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 57.960,00 (€ 47.391,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Simone Leigh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Stick im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.712.000,00 (€ 2.545.522,81).
