It achieved a price of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,362.15), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon Patterson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Great Bear, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 38,400.00 (€ 56,983.67).

Die Arbeit The Great Bear von Simon Patterson kam im Februar 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.362,15) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 40%. Für andere Arbeiten von Simon Patterson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Great Bear beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 38.400,00 (€ 56.983,67) versteigert wurde.
