Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Great Bear by Simon Patterson was sold in the Contemporary Edition auction at Christies in London in September 2019. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,209.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon Patterson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Great Bear, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 38,400.00 (€ 56,983.67).

Die Arbeit The Great Bear von Simon Patterson wurde im September 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Edition bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.209,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Simon Patterson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Great Bear beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 38.400,00 (€ 56.983,67) versteigert wurde.
