In March last year Christies in London held the auction Laugh now but one day we’ll be in charge: Banksy and 21st Century Editions, which included the work The Great Bear by Simon Patterson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 15,120.00 (€ 17,926.46), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon Patterson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Great Bear, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 38,400.00 (€ 56,983.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Laugh now but one day we’ll be in charge: Banksy and 21st Century Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Great Bear von Simon Patterson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 15.120,00 (€ 17.926,46) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Simon Patterson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Great Bear beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 38.400,00 (€ 56.983,67) versteigert wurde.
