Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Marilyn And Mao) by Shi Xinning was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2013. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 38,497.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Shi Xinning have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mao And Mccarthy in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 372,000.00 (€ 278,151.64).
