In May this year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Four Eyes, Three Hands by Sandro Chia. The »bidding war« ended at USD 28,980.00 (€ 27,201.05), 61% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sandro Chia achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pharmacist's son in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 252,500.00 (€ 362,606.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 61 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Four Eyes, Three Hands von Sandro Chia zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 28.980,00 (€ 27.201,05) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sandro Chia erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Pharmacist's son im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 252.500,00 (€ 362.606,61).
