In October 2007 Christies in London held the auction The Italian Sale 20th Century Art, which included the work The Pharmacist's son by Sandro Chia. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 252,500.00 (€ 362,606.61), 68% above the upper estimate. This high result makes The Pharmacist's son the most expensive artwork by Sandro Chia that we have observed at auctions so far.
