The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,890.00 (€ 1,622.74), 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Arneson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Audio Visual in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 79,588.87).

Die Arbeit (Tongue) A Hollow Gesture von Robert Arneson wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.890,00 (€ 1.622,74) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Arneson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Audio Visual im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 79.588,87).
