Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work On The Ledge by Ralph Goings was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,515.71). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralph Goings achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Hot Fudge Sundae Interior" in May 2014 with an auction result of SEK 3,100,000.00 (€ 339,772.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit On The Ledge von Ralph Goings im März 2021 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.515,71) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralph Goings erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Hot Fudge Sundae Interior" im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 3.100.000,00 (€ 339.772,73).
