Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Christies held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work American Salad A by Ralph Goings. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 37,872.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ralph Goings have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work "Hot Fudge Sundae Interior" in May 2014 with an auction result of SEK 3,100,000.00 (€ 339,772.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit American Salad A von Ralph Goings zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 37.872,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ralph Goings auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit "Hot Fudge Sundae Interior" im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 3.100.000,00 (€ 339.772,73).
